Penny Black Saturday Challenge...Week 195

Morning folks...the glorious weather continues...isn't it great to feel the sun on your face instead of the arctic chilly wind that we sometimes get in my little corner of the world but enough of the waffling...it's Saturday and that means it's time to join in the fun over at Penny Black Saturday.  I loved all your cute creations for last week's Easter Eggstravaganza Challenge...the winner has been announced so time to pop on over and check if it's YOU...
The challenge for this week is...
SING-A-LONG
you can either choose a favourite song to feature on your card or like I did use a music based image...

and I'm super duper excited about this week's prize....the lucky winner who will be announced next Saturday will be invited to be our
GUEST DESIGNER for MAY...
yes you will be joining the girls on the Design Team for 4 weeks to share your inspiration with us all.

I have to confess I'm feeling a little bit sad this morning...Timmie's Creative Chemistry 101 Online Class has come to an end and I can't begin to tell you how fabulous it's been...it's been the highlight of every day having Tim...The Lord Of All Things Holtziness pop into the cubbyhole to share fabulous tips...techniques...projects and his great sense of humour...can't wait to see the very last video on Monday...the Round-Up of 2 fabulous fun weeks and Tim's bloopers...REALLY...the King of All Things Craftiness makes bloopers...of course he does...I loved the one where he said "if you touch the ink and it's not WET...then it's DRY"...yeah...why didn't I think of that. So what does a crafty girl do when she's down in the doldrums and knee deep in kitting for GJWTHF...she has a little treat and takes herself off for a fun morning with like minded crafty chums....I'm off to The Papeterie to see my lovely buddies Debbi and Andy in action...indulge in some crafty chat along with coffee and cake.
I'll be popping over to visit you all for my weekly fix of Penny Black inspiration...have a great weekend whatever you're doing and The Furry Boy will be here bright and early tomorrow with the winner of his "Woof...Woof...Give-Away" and no doubt sharing thoughts about life in the cubbyhole.

Woof...Woof...Goodies

Good morning to all my lovely bloggy buds and what a lovely morning it is too...woof woof summer has arrived...Mum and I are loving our strolls in the early morning sun...best enjoy it whilst we can folks...it's going to get colder after the weekend.
But let's cut to the chase...today is going to be a WORKY day for the cubbyhole crew...so here's the goodies that I managed to snaffle from The NEC Stash...

Sweet Pea Collection...Papers...Nesting Messages...Die Cuts Flowers...Embossed Panels
Sweetheart Buds and 2 Peas in A Pod from Craftwork Cards
I'm getting the hang of  this crafting malarkey....apparently you can't make cards without the essential embellishment stuff...yummy ribbons...pearls and bling...flowers..ink pad...flower punch and woof woof...I managed to snaffle a fine tip applicator bottle filled with that fabulous new glue...
as per usual all you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is leave your name with Mr Inlinkz before 8pm on Saturday 31st March and I'll be back bright and early on Sunday morning to announce my winner....good luck everyone...
My crafty old Mum has been filing away all the stuff from Timmie's fabulous Creative Chemistry 101 online class and guess what...
she's now making noises about decorating the outside of the file...
crikey you crafty girls are easily distracted...the cubbyhole crew have enough to do already and I think it looks fine just the way it is so I'm putting my foot down...this job will just have to be added right at the bottom of the list of crafty things to do.
Mum will see you all tomorrow for Sneaky Peek Friday...I'll love you and leave you until the next time.

What's On My Workdesk Wednesday

Morning folks...after a couple of days faffing around catching up with laundry and those boring household chores and I have to confess I've been escaping out to the sunshine for more than a few coffee breaks...it's time to knuckle down and get back into the crafty swing...with April workshops and classes to prep and our "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" Workshop in Aberdeen just a week and a bit away...I'm going to need lots of pairs of big girl knickers. But before I start whipping the cubbyhole crew into a production frenzy...it's Wednesday and that means time to pop over to Julia's place aka WOYWW and check out crafty spaces from around the world.
So what's on my workdesk today...well prepare yourselves for a goodie bonanza...starting off with the 2 parcels that arrived in the cubbyhole in my absence...one I knew about...the gorgeous Sweet Pea Collection...my DT fix from Craftwork Cards...it's absolutely delicious and after seeing Julie's stunning samples at the NEC I can't wait to play...
but what on earth could be in this huge wicker hamper...
a craft kit from Ambi Pur....how cool...
Clock Making Kit...Mosaic Tile Kit...Travel Sewing Kit and of course Ambi Pur plug in room freshener
love this cute Cath Kidson Travel Sewing Kit...
but what did the Cubbyhole's Chief Stash Buyer spend the Cubbyhole Petty Cash on...all essential stuff of course...stocking up on Blending Tools to fill up my Spinners with extra Foam Pads...Vintage Lace Decorative Strip and Tim's fabulous pad of Word Stickers...
a Really Useful Box with 2 removeable sections to hold the Chipboard Alphabets I intend to die cut (when I find some spare time...don't hold your breath on that one) with the fabulous TH Word Play Die...yes one section for each letter is going to save me so much time and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I found Rob the MDF MAN and his fabulous products...excellent quality and at silly prices too...yet another addiction added to the list...
magnetic sheets from Joanna Sheen to store the ever growing family of dies...
How could I resist stocking up on even more of the beautiful Sweet Pea Collection from Sue and Julie at Craftwork Cards and yet another addiction..."can't craft without" beautiful pearls from Jill at The Hobby House...
my new bestest bestest friend...a Fiskars Treat....a new mini guillotine
but the star of the show was the fabulous fabulous glue that Fiskars were given to use at my workshops...I must admit I'm not a fan of wet glue and was a bit sceptical...taking loads of double sided tape as a back up...wet glue and paper don't normally go together but I have to admit I was so wrong...it's fabulous...doesn't wrinkle paper...dries completely clear...rubs right off if you get it in the wrong place...doesn't leave grubby marks either and a little goes a long way...out of the 6 bottles supplied I only used 2 over the 4 days of workshops and just to rub my nose in it...I had to transport all the double sided tape back home again.
Well that's me for today...off to try and motivate the cubbyhole crew which isn't going to be easy considering summer has definitely arrived in my neck of the woods. I spy with my little eye a certain Furry Person with dubious intentions...he's booked his slot on the blog for tomorrow so I suspect he may be thinking of snaffling some goodies for a little give-away and what the heck...it would be rude not to share.

Edited to add: going by the number of e-mails so far this morning...it looks like lots of you are liking my new Fiskars Best Friend...you can buy it HERE

Thank You...Thank You...Thank You...

Morning folks...I just had the best fun time with the 240 lovely superstar crafters who kept me company for 4 days at The NEC and superstars was putting it mildly...in fact we set a few world cardmaking records...the workshop was timed for 50 minutes and at times I was struggling to keep up with these super duper crafty machines...gold medal position went to the group who romped home in 31 minutes...

and of course it's always lovely to meet up with all my bestest crafting buddies that I only see twice a year starting off with sweet Ali and Andy..my gorgeous mateys Enfys and Jacqui ..my fellow Scot lovely Lorraine and all the other sweeties who popped by to say hello...too many to mention but you know who you are...sending hugs and missing you all already.
Saturday was an extra special day...chilling out at lunchtime with the gorgeous Wetherspoon Girlies and we now have 2 new very special honorary members...the lovely Andrea and Mary from The Ribbon Girl...thanks girls ...loves you all...until the next time.
And just to round up a special day...it was time for the Fiskars Girls to party...good food...vino and great company is a sure way of having a fun evening...big hugs to Severine...Hina...Rachel and Clare for a hilarious night but with the clocks going forward...I have to confess I wasn't feeling quite so chirpy on Sunday morning...an extra big breakfast...big girl knickers and probably the thought that I was going home got me back in the mood and ready to rock and roll for just one more day...
My special Fiskars buddies...Rachel strutting her stuff on the Fiskars Stand...
and Hina demonstrating my Easter Card at The Prima Theatre...
Sending hugs to Penny and Jane from The Art Of Craft for all their help and support and a big big thank you to everyone for making my time in Birmingham so special....roll on November.
So what about the shopping....well you will have to wait until tomorrow for the big reveal because the suitcase is still sitting neglected in the hall...I had a lazy chill out day yesterday catching up with all the tips techniques and videos from Timmie's Online Class...when I'll ever find the time to have a play is anybody's guess...
unpacking and laundry will be top of the list today after our morning stroll and woohoo it's going to be yet another beautiful day.  A big thank you also for all your lovely comments on my Hero Arts Week and to answer the question..."can the dies and embossing folders be used in other die cutting machines"...in a word YES.
See you all tomorrow over at WOYWW

I'm back....

Good morning folks and what a gorgeous morning it is...I'm back from my travels in one piece with no ill effects from 4 days of fun Fiskars workshops and downright hilarious nights with crafty buddies...I'm looking forward to my morning stroll with my gorgeous bundle of golden deliciousness...how time flies when you''re having fun...can't believe that 5 days ago I was leaving on a jet plane...well that's not strictly true...I was flying high on one of Flybe's twin prop jobs right over my house...
but my worst fears were confirmed at check-in when my suitcase weighed in at 3kgs over but a sweet smile seemed to do the trick with the nice Flybe lady and to my surprise she waived the excess baggage charge...
arrived bang on time for set-up...transforming this lonely looking space....
into a little home from home temporary cubbyhole
with the help of quite a few coffee breaks in the Birmingham sunshine...
I'll be back tomorrow with more pics of a fun fun time at the NEC and sharing what jumped into my shopping basket...couldn't believe that check-in on the way home also required sweet smiles...1.5Kgs overweight...perhaps their scales need calibrated. Today is going to be a catch up day with all the Timmie Online Creative Chemistry 101 classes I've missed and chilling out with my bestest furry friend.

Yubba-dubba...doo

A very good morning to all my lovely bloggy buds...I've really missed my old Mum...it's been a very long 5 days but today's the day she comes home...not until late o'clock and I'll be waiting at the front door for her footsteps...seventh heaven tonight snuggled up against her big bum...falling asleep to the dulcet tones of snoring. She's bound to be dog tired so it's probably going to be a mega decibels night but hey ho what's a bit of snoring between chums.
She's going to be mightily miffed when she realises that whilst she's up in the clouds...she'll miss most of the Dancing On Ice Final.  I think she'll have to have a word with the organisers of the Hobbycraft shows because way back in November she missed out on the final of Strictly but hey not long now and she'll be snuggled up on the sofa with me...a glass of vino and Upstairs Downstairs. I wonder if she's been splashing the cubbyhole stash cash...I'll be keeping an eagle eye on the suitcase trying to snaffle some of those goodies for a give-away but first it's time for me to take Dad for his morning stroll and yubba-dubba-doo...a few snoozes...2 more strolls and MUM will be home and no doubt she'll be popping on tomorrow to bore you silly with all the latest crafty news from The NEC.
