Glad...Sad and Spitting Fire Mad...

Hi folks...let's kick off with THE GLAD...how chuffed was I when this gorgeous thank you card popped through my letterbox from the lovely Lorraine who won the Craft Stamper give-away...
an e-mail to let me know that the parcel has arrived safely is really all that's required...casting no aspersions on our Royal Mail (prone to lose stuff occasionally) postal service but it definitely makes my day when lovely crafty folks take the time to make me such a beautiful card...love the image and Lorraine's gorgeous colour work...I have a box full of little treasures such as these so a big thank you Lorraine for your kind thoughtfulness...it means a lot.
Just to let you know that I'm devastated that my lovely dentist has apparently gone over to the dark side...all of a sudden he's joined the ranks of the bad guys...the SAD news is the old gnashers are in need of some TLC...I'm even more SAD that I'm booked in for another 2 torture and trauma visits...my teeth are on edge just at the thought.
I'm definitely a "wear my heart on my sleeve" kind of a person...if you pop over regularly you'll know exactly how I'm feeling on any particular day and today I'm MAD...spitting fire MAD in fact. The ugly side of the human race never fails to get my dander up...shocked...reviled and upset after reading some folks comments on Facebook about our wonderful Royal Baby news...the birth of a baby is a joyous occasion for every couple whether you're Royalty or Mr and Mrs Joe Bloggs down the street and if they've nothing nice to say...well to put it bluntly...they should keep their mouths shut and crawl back under the stones from whence they came...to call a little innocent baby a free-loading brat says more about their level of intelligence and moral fibre than anything else and believe me that was one of the mild ones...the rest were unfit for publication here. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing but sadly the anonimity of social media sites seems to give people the idea that it's OK to be downright nasty and malicious...say whatever they like...make peoples' lives a misery and there will be no repercussions but things may be a-changing...folks are fighting back...standing up to these nasties...the "Don't Blame Facebook" documentary the other night made very interesting viewing...a nasty internet troll being tracked down and getting his come-uppance made my night and went a little way to restoring my faith in human nature.
OK rant over...the day can only get better...the morning stroll with my furry partner always lifts my spirits...a morning with the staff at Hobbycraft Aberdeen with the promise of coffee should be fun and meeting up with a friend for lunch will continue the mood so toodle-oo-for now and I'll see you all tomorrow.
Hugs Kath xxx

  1. I hadn't seen those awful comments, but that is truly sinking to a new low. I look at that tiny baby and think about the burden he will bear as an adult ... bless him and his mom and dad! It is so good to hear happy news, and a new baby is happy news.

  2. I, too have a hard time understanding what has become our human "nature"...what ever happened to "if you have nothing good to say, then don't say anthing at all"?? I don't blame facebook, but sometimes I don't get it either. the birth of a baby is wonderous and even the comments of the ignorant can't take away the pleasure of a new little baby....I think sometimes people have way too much time for nothing!!

  3. There will always be sad people in this world Kath....just go out and enjoy your day and be thankful that you don't know people like that !

  4. It is sad isn't it Kath that people do sink so low but thankfully they are a very small minority. The news of the royal birth has created so much joy. Our first grandbaby arrives in November and seeing the new Prince really makes this feel even nearer for our family. We can't wait. Have a wonderful day....and be glad. Hugs xx

  5. I don't know what is wrong with people today but I thoroughly agree with you. I spent an hour last night glued to BBC news waiting to see the new arrival! I have to go to the dentist every 3 months and need to take all sorts of medication (horse tranquilisers) to get me there so I can understand how you feel! Susan xx

  6. Hi Kath, Lorraine's card is a stunner! I don't do other social media and today I am glad that I don't, after reading your justified rant. I do try to remember that there are more good people in the world than bad - but it still saddens me..... Sorry to hear about the dentist too... Big hugs, Anne x

  7. I couldn't agree with you more. One of my mums favourite comments as my sister and I were growing up was "if you've nothing nice to say, don't say it at all" . If only more people lived by this simple rule, the Internet and many lives and households would be happier places. There's too much "it's my right to say whatever I want".
Hope you have a great day. My last day of holiday. Back home tomorrow night. Then time to assemble the Christmas cards I've started in Spain!! There's been lots of time to colour. :)

  8. Gorgeous card from Lorraine, I have not seen these nasty comments on Facebook.. Thank goodness.. I am overjoyed with the news of the birth of our beautiful future King...Some people have way too much time on their hands to spend there time attacking a new born...very sad indeed!...Good luck with your future dentist appointments... Hugs May x x x

  9. Totally agree with you, these people need to be quiet. Angery at the BBC for giving others, so much air time to bash the royal family.

  10. That really is a beautiful thank you card.
I always ignore nasty comments made about anyone. They're usually borne out of jealousy and I'm sure in this case the good wishes far outweigh the bad xx

  11. A very pretty card with gorgeous colouring, deserves a place in your special box Kath!!!
There are aweful people/programms in this world. Just ignore is my device but unfortunately they are in your face sometimes. Should be forbidden but how does it say "what goes around comes around"!!!!

  12. Sorry to hear about the dentist Kath. Hope it isn't too painful. I completely agree and must say it isn't just about the beautiful Royal baby but in some groups there are a few people who can be really horrible. I always think if you can't say something nice don't say anything. Just no need for it. I think William and Kate are lovely, just like Diana, who would have been so proud. So sad she isn't here.

I couldn't wait to see the new arrival on the news last night, it's brilliant news.

  15. Makes me glad I don't go on Facebook Kath. It seems to be the place for every nutcase around. Thankfully most people are happy for William and Catherine, as they would be for any young couple with their first baby. I'm sure the nutters know that if they said these things amongst people they'd be lynched!

Hope your trips to the dentist aren't too stressful.

    Kat xx
