Oops...I'm on the naughty step...

Hi everybody...it's yesterday's Birthday Boy...popping in to say a great big thank you for all your Birthday Wishes here and on Facebook...
and I've got my serious face on today because it didn't turn out to be the happy birthday day I was hoping for...it started off great...with a card...lots of pressies...a great big sloppy Birthday kiss from my Mum and the promise of loads of treats throughout the day...well I had to kiss goodbye to them because within the hour...I was in the doghouse AGAIN...sent to the naughty step for the rest of the morning with a serious ticking off ringing in my ears...crikey all I did was... hurdle a couple of walls...nearly but not quite take a garden gate off it's hinges...run rampage through 3 gardens demolishing one or two prized blooms...all because I can't resist playing chase with the local moggies and it was going so well until the cheeky puss took refuge under a garden shed. Oops...must have got a bit carried away in the heat of the moment...time for my best "sorry Mum" face which usually does the trick but it all kicked off when the very angry "can't you keep that animal under control" owner of said shed appeared and instead of staying to face the music or in this case...the shouting...swearing...I'm calling the police kind of thing...I hightailed it out of there leaving my old Mum to take the flack...bigga mistake-a to make-a perhaps because when she finally caught up with me...I was in no doubt whatsoever that a "lead on" serious low growly voice DEEP DOODAH lecture was about to follow...OOPS.
And a very special thank you to my lovely buddy Polly who e-mailed this gorgeous card...ironic or what...
how was Polly to know that her beautiful card was the perfect excuse for my old Mum to give me another "ear bashing". But today's a new day and this BAD BOY needs to rack up a whole load of brownie points to get back in the good books again so I'm off to get my head down and keep a very low profile. See you all soon.

Happy Birthday Buddy

Hi folks...it's hard to believe that this little bundle of snuggliness is now 9 years old...
and just like his Mum there are now lots of silver hairs amongst the gold...
He's just the sweetest boy...still prone to occasional hooligan moments as you all know and sometimes has a very dodgy early morning alarm clock problem but I wouldn't change him for the world...he's a real larger than life character with a mind of his own and I love him to bits. Because I work from home he's my 24/7 cubbyhole companion or "under my feet most of the time" sleeping partner...
he's the bestest ever hot water bottle on cold wintry nights...knows when I'm sad...doesn't do grumpy...sulky or nasty...believe me he's had some right old telling offs over the years but he takes it on the chin and in a matter of seconds we're be back to being bestest buddies again...us humans could definitely learn a thing or two from our canine friends but if you don't have a dog in your life then I can't even come close to describing the wonderful bond that we share and a mutual understanding called COMPROMISE...I forgive his little occasional misdemeanours and he puts up with the crafty tantrums and messy cubbyhole...life's all about give and take...give him an inch and he'll take a bl***y mile. But the years are flying in and he's fast approaching senior citizenship...soon to join his Mum in that exclusive golden oldies club where you're expected to behave...to act your age instead of your shoe size...seriously...as if that's likely to happen anytime soon...whilst there's life in these old dogs...the fun and hooligan adventures are likely to continue.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY...MY BEAUTIFUL BOY
love you loads...
here's to many more happy fun years together...
See you all tomorrow

There's a Moose Loose...

Hi folks...yes you did read the title right...there is in fact a moose loose aboot the hoose...not one of these I hasten to add...
far more likely to be one of these cute little guys...
a field mouse who's come in to shelter from the wet and chilly weather perhaps. You'll be relieved to know he's not actually in the hoose...he's either taken up residence in the loft or under the floorboards but is driving me crazy with his late night and early morning scamperings...the pitter patter of tiny feet as he dashes up and down behind the walls and across the ceiling in the bedroom and guess what...the dodgy Furry Alarm Clock seems to be oblivious...my constant pressing of his reset button seems to have worked...my adorable Furry Snorer has slept until 7.30am TWO MORNINGS IN A ROW but it's the classic scenario of one problem solved and another comes along. The new visitor is more than welcome to stay but only if he stays out of sight and wears his slippers when he's running about the hoose. And as for the sun...well we're still in blink and you'll miss it mode...in the meantime I'm off to look out the party hats and candles for tomorrow.

Blooming Marvellous...

Hi folks...I'm not the only one who's been busy busy...despite the wet and chilly weather we've had...Mother Nature never fails to amaze...
it's looking good for a bumper crop of sweet delicious cherry tomatoes this year although if we don't get lots more sunshine soon...I may be digging out a recipe for Fried Green Tomatoes and the first poppy of the year is bravely holding his head up against anything the weather can throw at him...
a week away from the garden and suddenly there's colour everywhere...

so fingers crossed that the weather predictions for next week are correct and the cubbyhole crew will be spending lots of time outdoors...

Flipping Nora...

Hi folks...Flipping Nora...hard to believe we're only a few days away from July but I wish someone would inform the weather...it's been more like Autumn in my neck of the woods...I'm still wearing my red duvet winter coat with the hood up for our chiily and wet early morning strolls...how crazy is that...it's supposed to be Summer for goodness sake.
And on the subject of crazy...it's been all go in the cubbyhole this week...the Fiskars Workshop project for the NEC in NOVEMBER is in the bag...the step-by-steps are done and...
I'm on a roll sourcing the required materials...no pun intended but I was determined there would be NO repeat of last year's "beg steal borrow and chop up" cardboard boxes adventure...why would you when you can get a ready made "cheap as chips" bumper bundle of the corrugated stuff from HERE...
the Christmas magazine commission is waiting to be parceled up and sent on it's way...
and the projects for the workshops at The Papeterie on the 8th August will "fingers crossed" be finished tomorrow. Before you ask I'm not on steroids...the reason for the crazy frantic crafting frenzy is all about getting ahead of the game before Wimbledon...my favourite sporting event of the year...I'm hell bent on clearing the crafty list ready for 2 weeks of couch potato "anyone for tennis/strawberries and cream/and the occasional Pimms" indulgence. So with that in mind...must dash.

Leave a Little Sparkle...

Hi folks...I have to confess I was a bit flummoxed by the Decorative Tree die that came in my parcel from CraftStash...very intricate dies are not really my style but hey ho...here's what I made and you know what...it's beginning to grow on me...

here I used sections of the die to create swirly corners...
and three cheers for the fabulous go-to product that us die-cutting crafters can't live without....the wonderful Stick-It available HERE...without it I fear this gorgeous intricate tree would have been a bit of a messy gluey sticking down affair and talking of mess...after a week of Christmas makes I sure have left a little LOT of glittery sparkle EVERYWHERE.
See you all tomorrow

Die-lightful CraftStash...

Hi folks...today I'm sharing cards I made with a die-lightful little parcel that CraftStash sent me to play with containing dies from their beautiful brand new Apple Blossom Craft Collection and how cool is this...each die comes with it's own cute folder and magnetic sheet...
so here's what I made with Floral Border 1
adding a cute little Tag...
a little bit of paper piecing on the flowers and why not cut out the flowers for a corner decoration...
the cubbyhole crew are still knee deep in "HO HO HO" stuff...you have fun with whatever you're doing and I'll be back tomorrow to share what I made with the Decorative Tree Die.

Don't forget to fly...

Hi folks...today I'm sharing another DT card for this month's Lilac Colour Challenge over at The Ribbon Girls...
I added White Tulle over the dragonfly wings but the camera no likey so it's quite hard to see...

It's going to be another "HO HO HO" Happy Crafting day in the cubbyhole

"12 Tags of 2015" June

Hi folks...finally I've got round to joining in the fun this month over at "12 Tags of 2015"...with a week to spare too...a killing 2 birds with one stone project as it's also another DT make for Inspiration Emporium but I ain't polishing my halo just yet...
another "adapt and overcome" tag if ever I saw one...if like me you haven't got round to getting Tim's new "Distress It Yourself "Custom Blend Ink Pads...you can always make one from a square of Cut 'n Dry Stamp Pad Felt (pop it in a Jiffy bag when you're done and you can use it over and over again)
and that's not the only blot in the Cubbyhole Ordering Department's copybook...it seems I don't have the Stripes Stencil either...a major disciplinary "just not good enough" offence I'm sure you'll agree...requiring a mercy dash to The Papeterie with my borrower's hat on and just to complete the hat trick in my "never do things by half" style...no Fresh Brewed Die either. But hey what's new...it's just another day in the life of this crazy crafter and life would be a tad boring if everything in the garden was always rosy...another chance to play with the gorgeous Flower Garden stamps...

and it's tidy up time in the cubbyhole...Mr Dyson will be working his magic with the crafty debris while The Furry Boy mops up the early morning toasty breakfast crumbs...
ready for Christmas arriving in the cubbyhole...today we'll be looking out our Santa hats and playing Mr Buble non stop...fingers crossed that will get us in the "Christmas projects" groove.
See you all tomorrow
