Holy Smoke...

Hi Everyone...happy Saturday from your favourite bundle of golden deliciousness...
yesterday was all about Hickory Smoke...today it's all about "HOLY SMOKE"...it's Halloween and that means FIREWORKS...jump out of my skin bangers...roaring rockets and light up the sky flashes...jeepers creepers...it's going to be a "quivering hide behind the sofa" kind of a night.
I'm going to be in so much trouble for telling tales out of school but the workshop project hasn't gone well...the air has been a bit blue in the cubbyhole...lots of HOLY SMOKE "cover my ears" words flying around...
to cut a long story short...it's been a total "faffing about" disaster...so we're now in "BIN IT and START OVER" mode. If you're out and about tonight...have fun but stay safe.

Christmas With A Twist Take 2...

Hi folks...I'm back to share the card we made at Saturday's afternoon workshop...not just any old card...a rather special card with a twist using Karen Burniston's fabulous original Sizzix Album Accordion Flip 3-D 658036 and Frame & Label Bracket 658037 Dies...

we used Hickory Smoke Distress Paint (my new favourite Christmas colour) to colour the frames and labels and overstamped snowflakes from Tim's gorgeous Mini Weathered Winter stamp set using Hickory Smoke Distress Ink...creating a beautiful tone on tone effect. The snowflakes on the labels were stamped with Distress Embossing Ink...sprinkled with Sticky Embossing Powder and given gorgeous sparkly highlights using...surprise...surprise...Ranger's Vintage Foil...
the trees from Tim's Treeline Stamp set were stamped with Ground Espresso Distress Ink with die cut Stacked Snowflakes with sparkly gem centres added to finish off...
there is no limit to the amount of panels you can use...in fact...I'm going to make a 9 panel Christmas Accordion Sensation to decorate this year's Christmas mantlepiece...wishful thinking perhaps or a statement that may well jump up and bite me on the bum...watch this space.
In the meantime I'm on a mission to complete the project for November's Workshop at The Papeterie on the 14th...it was a slight logistical oops to schedule it for days after I return from The NEC bearing in mind that the old body is likely to be having a hissy fit and in "the day after the day after" protest mode after all those fun Fiskars frolics.

Christmas With A Twist...

Hi everyone...the step by step instructions are done and the cubbyhole crew are back to tackling the crafty list...can't believe it's less than a week until I leave for Birmingham so while I crack on with what I need to get done before then...I'm sharing the first project from the Christmas With A Twist workshops at The Papeterie on Saturday. We had great fun creating our 3D Sleigh Christmas decoration using Tim's Sizzix BigZ dies...Sleigh and Prancing Deer cut from chipboard.  We started off by painting the die cuts and then it was time to test our construction skills and the sticking power of Glossy accents...
before we moved on to the fun bit...slapping on the Texture Paste...sprinkling the glitter...adding some greenery...cones and pearls with a little bit of stamping thrown in for good measure...
and here's the finished article...

I'll be back tomorrow to share what we made after lunch

Oops...

Hi everyone...I'll be putting on my "determined to nail those Fiskars instructions" hat today...no doubt requiring many "probably more than are good for me" cups of caffeine before it's done BUT...
there's a snag...another of those "OOPS" moments...the samples are gone...currently winging their way south so I'll be working from photographs and relying on the not reliable at the best of times memory for measurements etc in which case it could be a long "racking my brains...tearing my hair out" kind of a day.
And guess what...the Furry Boy Alarm Clock has gone bonkers again...he's gone from silly o'clock rise and shine to sleeping in until 8.30 which isn't doing much for the crafty production line but you know what they say about letting sleeping dogs lie and I must confess it's rather nice to snuggle in again on cold wet dreich mornings. I'll be back tomorrow with the "oops forgot to share" projects from the weekend workshop at The Papeterie...in the meantime...here's another sample sneaky peek...

Take a breath...

Hi folks...I've survived the crazy last minute "burning the midnight oil" sample making session...they're all packed up and waiting for Mr Hermes to pick up this morning...
but I'm not out of the woods just yet...there's still the step-by-step instructions to tackle but first I need to take a deep breath and get stuck into clearing up this little lot...
In the meantime here are a couple of sneaky "sample" peeks...

 Toodle for now

Skidding In By The Seat of My Pants...

Hi folks...just a quick pop in and pop out today...I'm on a frantic mission to finish off the last of the Fiskars samples before Mr Hermes comes a-knocking but first there's the small matter of re-threading the needle on the sewing machine...
cover your ears folks and I'll see you all tomorrow...that is if I haven't been carted off to the loony bin in the meantime.

Back To The Day Job...

Hi folks...Christmas playtime has been put on hold...there will be no lounging around today with the Sunday crosswords or time for a Furry Boy pamper...I'm back to the day job with my Fiskars Elf Hat on making some last minute Christmas samples for The NEC using the new Power and Double Tag Maker punches...
a great excuse to use up some of last year's Christmas Paper Stash...
and make a dent in the pile of chipboard alphabets and letters
Last minute deadlines are all part and parcel of the job I love...no point in huffing and puffing...best get the kettle on...muster the crew...pull up the big girl knickers and take advantage of that extra bonus hour. I'll be back tomorrow to share what we made at yesterday's workshop at The Papeterie...in the meantime enjoy what's left of the weekend.

What A Numptie...

Hi folks...there is absolutely no doubt that I was right at the head of the queue when the "NUMPTIE" genes were handed out but hey going by past mistakes you've probably worked that out already. I was over the moon when I saw Tim's gorgeous Village Dwelling Die and jumped right in to order it...
what I didn't realise was...I also needed Village Bell Tower and Village Winter to create the church steeple and snowfall effect but they're here now so that particular oversight will be our little secret...
and I'm super duper excited that the Distress Paper Mosaic Kit has arrived...haven't a clue what I'm going to make with it yet but I've written myself a little reminder note to self  "for goodness sake...read the instructions and watch Tim's video" before I have another "bull in a china shop/all guns blazing" numptie disaster on my hands.
In the meantime I'm looking forward to a fun workshop day at The Papeterie.
Enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned

Sparkly Trio...Take Two...

Hi folks...with kind permission from Mr Blogger...I'm back with the other two Sparkly Trio cards and I think out of the three...this one is my favourite

or perhaps it's the zingy Twisted Citron one...

I'll be packing up the workshop kits for tomorrow's class at the Papeterie and then it's a kicking up our heels day out with the Friday Girls...see you all tomorrow

A Sparkly Trio...

Hi folks...Mr Mojo is firing on all cylinders and I'm making hay while the sun shines...having the time of my life playing with all the Tim Holtz Christmas goodies. Today I'm sharing a Sparkly Trio...why make one card when it's just as quick to make three...filling up the Christmas card box and pushing the boat out again with an alternative Christmas colour palette...
applying a splash of Twisted Citron...Evergreen Bough and Hickory Smoke Distress Paints to create a background and stamping a Mini Weathered Winter Snowflake with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink...
and I'm in love with the Festive Scribbles Thinlits set. I created the sparkly effect by inking up white card with Versamark and sprinkling with PSX Silver Embossing Tinsel which I bought in New York 5 years ago...must have known that one day I would find a use for it...
unfortunately Mr Blogger is not so impressed with the crazy production line and took a hissy fit when I tried to upload the other two cards so you'll have to wait until tomorrow for Sparkly Trio Take Two.
