Sneaking In...

Morning folks...I'm sneaking in at the very last minute with Tag Number 2 for this month's

did you really think I would be able to resist a little playtime with my new Dapper Gentleman goodies...
and not content with using the stamped image...I just had to throw a few die cuts into the mix...
and in for a penny...in for a pound...why not have some fun with Distress Embossing Powders to create a rusty effect...

and to finish off my "everything but the kitchen sink" tag...I couldn't resist adding some Ranger Vintage Foil...
Don't forget you have until 8pm tonight to enter my GIVE-AWAY...a chance to win some fabulous magazines c/w stamps and embossing folders and a pair of my "go to every time" favourite Fiskars scissors.
I'll be back tomorrow to announce the lucky winner.

Everything is possible...

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's "Make A Wish" challenge...we hope you can join us this week too...

and the theme for this week is...
MONOCHROME
Definition: Black and White or different shades of a single colour
I decided to go with classic Black and White and made an art journal page based around Hickory Smoke...one of my favourite colours in the Distress Palette...a beautiful smoky grey...

I gave my pages a coat of gesso and randomly fixed down the Tissue Tape. I then applied Hickory Smoke Distress Paint using a baby wipe...
picked up the paint left on my craft mat with kitchen towel and pounced all over to create a tone on tone mottled effect...
inked the Halftone stamp with Black Archival and Hickory Smoke from the Tim Holtz Distress Mixed Media Palette and stamped randomly over the page.
I applied Wendy Vecchi Crackled Texture Paste through the Brick Stencil from Mini Layering Stencils Set 3 and when it was completely dry...applied Distress Collage Medium Matte over the whole page. I then rubbed the Hickory Smoke Distress Crayon  over the texture paste...rubbed it in with my finger and wiped back from the surface with a damp baby wipe.
I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Radiant Sunflower from black card and paper covered with Tissue Tape...inked the Halftone stamp with Picket Fence Distress Ink and stamped the black circles for the flower centres...

I added extra flower circles and created shadows around them using the Black Soot Distress Crayon and created splatters with the Tim Holtz Splatter Brush and Picket Fence Distress Paint...
and finished off by adding some Big Chat Stickers...
And if you're wondering about my choice of sentiment...well let's just say at one point in the creative process it was looking very likely that it was heading for the bin but I hung in there...kept stepping away and coming back to look at it with fresh eyes and finally ended up with something I was happy to share.

Woohoo...it's Friday...

Morning folks...woohoo...it's Friday...the end of a busy old week in the cubbyhole. Thanks to the "not at all seasonal" weather...the garden plans haven't progressed much beyond planting up a few pots...

instead I've been confined to the cubbyhole trying to get ahead of the game with DT projects so that when Summer does finally arrive I'll have lots of time in hand to spend outdoors...that's the plan...wishful thinking or completely delusional...take your pick...

and I may be cutting off my nose to spite my face but I really don't mind if Summer holds off until next week because my Simon Says Stamp DT parcel has arrived...
and I'm looking forward to a hot weekend date with the Friday Girls and a rather dapper gentleman or two...
Have a great weekend whatever the weather and I'll see you all on Monday with a new project for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and you still have plenty of time to join in this week's  "Make A Wish" challenge with the chance for you to win a $50 spending spree voucher.

we have a tag...yeah

Hi Everyone...we're heading towards the end of the week and nearly the end of another month but there's good news...I may be skidding in by the seat of my pants again but better late than never...yeah we have this month's tag in the bag for...

I'm really enjoying the Technique Remix idea that Tim is using for the 2016 tags
and Tissue Tape Resist is one of my favourites...
I do have the Lady Rose Stamp Set that Tim used but hang on to your galluses for shocking news...I'm ashamed to say that although this beautiful lady from Nature Walk took up residence in the cubbyhole some time ago...she has never been inked. Now is her time in the spotlight and seeing as it's a very special occasion...a little bit of lippy doesn't go amiss.

and who doesn't love the adorable and cute Tiny Tattered Florals...
Enjoy whatever you're doing today...I was planning a day in the garden but OOPS...the weather may have other ideas.
