All's well...kind of...

Hi folks...calm has returned to the cubbyhole...an entente cordiale agreement has been reached and the resident divas are back to being bestest buddies again...one snoozing in the corner...the other playing with the new goodies and filling up the Christmas card box at the same time...all's well and tickety-boo...

or so we thought and isn't it strange how you can start off thinking about one thing and before you know you're off on a tangent...hopping and skipping onto something entirely unrelated. It's the last day of October Halloween of course and that got me thinking that I don't need spooky ghouls and scary ghosty things to get me in panic mode...tomorrow we're into November and the big fat man in the red suit will be paying us a visit before we know and if that isn't scary enough...a week today I'll be heading for The NEC...how this year has flown by...suddenly a HUGE KACHINK LIGHTBULB thought exploded in this old crafty brain and as seriously oops moments go...this is definitely a "10 OUT 10".
Obviously I wasn't firing on all cylinders when it came to ticking off the crafty list for the Fiskars Workshops because there's been a major boo-boo in the kitting department...I completely forgot about the sentiment strips...all 280 x 2 of them which should have been stamped...trimmed and safely tucked up in the kits. I've got  a sneaky feeling that this was one job I wasn't looking forward to so the old crafty brain filed it away in the pending section...oh bugger...looks like I can kiss goodbye to playing today.
But it's hardly a disaster when all's said and done...just another of life's little hiccups to overcome and we have a plan...one of those "back up against the wall" adapt and overcome plans...an easy option...blatantly cheating with a bit of jiggery pokery copying and pasting on the computer...printing and trimming and who's going to know.
We won't tell if you don't
Sending love and prayers to our friends in the US affected by the horrendous storms...stay safe
See you all tomorrow

Oops...

Hi folks....oops it seems I've upset the Furry Boy but there was no need to go down the name and shame route reminding the world and his wife that I have this incurable must-have addiction...I'm holding my hands up...guilty as charged M'Lord but it can't all be about playtime...there are never enough hours in a day for us crafty girls...having to juggle our passion for playing with stamps and inks with the run of the mill day-to-day household chore stuff...the house certainly doesn't clean itself nor does the laundry jump into the washing machine and who do they think shops for all the food and then has to cook it and of course not forgetting the 3 times a day doggy strolls...take them out of the equation and I've gained 3 hours of playtime...mind you one stir crazy furry hooligan is a price I'm not willing to pay for some extra hours in the day.
But anything for a quiet life and who am I to argue with the ruler of the roost...I've heard it said that dust is a protective coating for your furniture...is anyone going to notice whether I give it it's marching orders today...tomorrow or next week so I'm forsaking Mr Dyson and the feather duster in favour of crafty tools...making some Tattered Pine Cones....sounds like fun...that is until I burn my fingers with the glue gun.
but first there's just one more exciting job to do before I venture into the playground...an hour or so sitting at the computer at dark o'clock typing out step-by-step's...not my most favourite way of starting the day...in fact...a big girl knicker...multiple coffees job if ever I saw one.
Wish me luck and I'll see you all tomorrow

Happy Monday

Happy Monday Morning to all my lovely bloggy buds from your favourite bundle of golden deliciousness...don't you just love Monday mornings...me neither and I didn't even get the weekend off to recharge my batteries...running hither and tither clearing up last week's work debris and heavens know what my old crafty Mum has planned for this week...there is only so much of this head down nose to the grind days...24/7 crafting...lunch and treat breaks at weird and wonderful times and strolls getting shorter and shorter...I can take.
No point in complaining either...the grievance procedure person seems to have cloth ears but I'm a dab hand at the dog with a bone thing and have a little plan...time to bring out the power of suggestion big guns...let the donkey see the carrot...in other words a little reminder of all the stuff that arrived in the cubbyhole this month and has been lying abandoned in a corner...
not to mention this little lot from March's trip to The NEC...
is there a chance it might just bring on a "sod the work stuff...let's have a play" mood...if so I'll be having a lazy peace and quiet snooze kind of a day...if not it's back to the drawing board and I may have to consider looking for alternative employment.
Catch up with you all soon

The North Wind Doth Blow...

Hi folks...did you remember to put your clocks back last night...an extra hour snuggling up under the duvet was mighty tempting considering the North Wind has been blowing a hooley here with frequent snow showers but The Furry Boy's built-in alarm obviously hasn't got an automatic British Summertime setting...
so we're up and about at silly o'clock sitting on the radiator...cosy and snuggly in the cubbyhole and planning a "clear the debris" kind of day after a week of die-cutting and stitching...

and a little sneaky peek of some Christmas makes...
with these gorgeous goodies from The Ribbon Girl...
by the way...there's a super duper New Products Give-away over at The Ribbon Girls
to spend in their online store...why don't you pop over and check the fabulous new goodies for yourself

I'm off to make myself a warming cuppa and enjoy a few more minutes sitting on the radiator before I wrap up warm and brave the elements for our chilly morning stroll and by the way The Furry Boy will be joining you tomorrow with his latest "I've got a bee in my bonnet" take on life in the cubbyhole...whatever now.

Inspired by Paula...Day 3

Hi folks...last day of my  "Inspired By Paula" cards using the Everyday Collection...Postage Stamps and Butterlies stamps and matching Framelits from Paula Pascual and an entirely different colour combo today...

and the monochrome look...another of my favourites...

and winter's arrived in my neck of the woods....yes that is snow...
so we're planning a snuggly warm crafty day in the cubbyhole with lots of cuppas and home-made soup for lunch but first it's time to brave the weather for a "throwing snowballs for the Furry Boy" morning stroll.
See you all tomorrow

Inspired by Paula...Day 2

Hi Folks...I'm back with more "Inspired by Paula" cards...collage style cards today using the gorgeous Everyday Collection of stamps and matching Sizzix Framelits dies from Paula Pascual...Flowers Lovely...Banners and Postage Stamps to create different looks...

using only the stamps and dies...

adding in a little bit of patterned paper...

and the vintage look...

I seem to be stuck in a blue and brown colour combo rut at the moment...favourites of mine I'm afraid but I need to widen my horizons and have a play with the rest of the colour palette for tomorrow's cards...wish me luck.
